On February 22, a large-scale collapse occurred at an open-pit coal mine in Alxa League, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, burying numerous workers and vehicles. According to CCTV News, as of now, the accident has resulted in six deaths, six injuries, and 47 people missing.

On-site video shows that a landslide occurred at the time of the incident, sending up a thick cloud of dust, with numerous heavy machines and vehicles operating at the scene. At around 7 p.m. on February 22, the Publicity Department of the Alxa League Party Committee issued a statement saying that, in the afternoon of the same day, a landslide struck the mining area of Xinjing Coal Industry in the Luanjingtan Ecological Relocation Demonstration Zone of the Alxa League, burying several workers and vehicles. To date, 156 pieces of rescue equipment and vehicles have been deployed, along with 19 rescue teams comprising 919 rescuers and 19 occupational safety experts, all of whom are currently conducting rescue operations at the site.

Open-pit mining is a comprehensive undertaking that encompasses multiple facets, including transportation, mining operations, ventilation, as well as enterprise management, blasting, mechanical engineering, and environmental protection. Compared with other industries, it inherently involves a greater number of safety hazards, with both the work itself and the workplace presenting certain risks.

For such events, we have independently developed an integrated tilt-monitoring system and other all-in-one monitoring devices, which are widely deployed for monitoring landslides, ground deformation, and rockfalls. By continuously tracking real-time data on tilt, crack activity, azimuth, and other parameters, the platform automatically triggers high-frequency alerts whenever anomalies exceed predefined thresholds. Simultaneously, the system promptly notifies relevant personnel via web portals, mobile apps, and SMS messages, enabling proactive risk management and minimizing the likelihood of disasters.

Adhering to the mission of “People-Oriented and Technology-Innovative,” Spepc Technology is committed to leveraging next-generation information technology, digital technology, and IoT technology to provide greater safety and security for the nation and society in the face of disasters.
