Jiangyong County Small Reservoir Rainfall and Water Situation Project

Project Background

Within the jurisdiction of Jiangyong County, numerous small reservoirs are scattered across the landscape. Traditional manual inspections are time-consuming and labor-intensive, resulting in untimely acquisition of rainfall and water-level data and creating blind spots in reservoir‑area safety management—particularly with respect to pressing public‑safety concerns such as drowning prevention and protection against vandalism. There is a pressing need to establish a unified system for monitoring rainfall and water levels, coupled with video surveillance.

Monitoring equipment

The project’s installed equipment is as follows:

Device Type

Quantity

Purpose

Integrated Drowning Prevention Monitoring and Warning System

9 sets

Intelligent Monitoring and Warning System for Drowning Prevention in Reservoir Areas

Video surveillance

3 sets

Real-time viewing of the reservoir area and dam site footage

Unmanned aerial vehicle

1 set

Reservoir area patrol and emergency reconnaissance

Probe instrument

1 set

Water-depth measurement and underwater topographic surveying in the reservoir area

The system connects to the monitoring and early-warning platform via 4G wireless transmission, enabling remote data access and centralized management.

Implementation Effectiveness

Upon completion, the system enables centralized remote monitoring of multiple small reservoirs. The integrated drowning‑prevention surveillance and warning system automatically detects individuals entering hazardous areas and issues voice alerts, significantly enhancing public safety management in the reservoir zone. Combined with video surveillance and drone‑assisted patrols, it allows management personnel to maintain real-time situational awareness, markedly improving the timeliness of rainfall and water‑level data collection, thereby providing robust technical support for safe reservoir operations and emergency dispatch.
