Nanning Railway Bureau Track Maintenance Flood-Prevention Monitoring Equipment Project


Project Overview

The railway lines under the jurisdiction of China Railway Nanning Group Co., Ltd. traverse extensive karst terrain, where landslides, rockfalls, and other geological hazards are frequent, placing significant pressure on flood‑control efforts during the rainy season.

Conventional manual inspections struggle to monitor slope micro‑deformations and changes in hazardous rock masses in real time, making the large‑scale deployment of automated monitoring systems urgently necessary.

In 2022, the Nanning Railway Bureau launched a project for track maintenance flood‑monitoring equipment. Leveraging its integrated intelligent sensing technology and large‑scale delivery capabilities, Spepc Technology provided monitoring equipment to five track maintenance sections in Baise, Nanning, Guilin, Liuzhou, and Yulin.

Monitoring equipment

This project covers multiple major railway trunk lines under the jurisdiction of Nanning Railway Group, with a large-scale construction and extensive geographic coverage. Spepc Technology has carried out large-scale, high-standard deployment of monitoring equipment, tailored to the geological characteristics and flood-control needs of each line:

  • Inclinometer : Total installed   3,638 units , extensively deployed along the route at key slope sections and geological hazard sites to monitor slope inclination changes in real time.
  • Collapse Meter : Total installed   300 sets , with a primary focus on high-risk areas prone to rockfalls and unstable cliffs, enabling real-time detection and early warning of collapse hazards.

Implementation Effectiveness

The successful implementation of this project marks a new phase in the development of the Nanning Railway Bureau’s flood‑control monitoring system for the track‑maintenance sector.

  • Wide-area coverage The monitoring network spans five railway engineering sections and multiple trunk lines, establishing a regionally coordinated flood‑control monitoring framework.
